Safe Routes to School

Safe Routes to School is a nation wide program working to increase the number of children walking and bicycling to school from today’s 13 percent back up to the 41 percent it was in 1969. The WPC is committed to promoting a safe walking experience for our children, and we are excited to be a Safe Routes to School partner. The WPC has assisted the City of Portland’s Safe Routes to School Program by providing Pedestrian Safety Education classes to 2nd grade students during the 2009-2010 school year.
