The Weston Awards!

The Big Event

Willamette Pedestrian Coalition’s first annual Weston Awards pay tribute to the feat and feet of walking. Join us for a special evening celebrating the 20th anniversary of WPC's work advocating for walkable communities as well as the shoe leather that passionate people just like you tread in the quest for a healthier, more livable future.

In addition to highlighting this year's Weston winners, the event will showcase a whimsical exhibit of shoes and stories of our region's homegrown, locally-loved notables. The exhibit is guaranteed to knock your socks off!

The Weston Awards are officially sold out. Thanks to our supporters for filling a room. The event already feels like a success, and it hasn't even started yet!

Who Is this Weston Character?
WPC’s Weston Awards are named in honor of America's greatest walker, Edward P. Weston. In just 10 days in 1861, Weston walked from Boston to DC to attend Lincoln's Inaugural Ball. His journey took him to cities big and small, neighborhoods poor and rich, through a cross section of America, where he was welcomed at every turn.

About The Weston Awards!
The Weston Awards celebrate inspiration, enthusiasm, perseverance, and the conviction that one of the best ways to get anywhere is on foot. Join us in celebrating the Westons among us today: people from all walks of life who have made our communities more livable and more walkable.

Is there someone you know who helps make your community more walkable, who gets more people walking more often, or who helps make life a little easier for others who just want to get across the street? Now is your big chance to put them in the spotlight!

Nominations are now closed. Start thinking of your Weston hero for next year!
